Asset Owner - Private Markets (AOPM)
The Private Market team is focused on providing administrative and analytical solutions to institutional investors in Private Equity and Real Estate. Our team tracks all communications from our clients' General Partners, processes all cash movements, updates investment valuations, captures underlying portfolio company and property details, and provides online tools for performance and exposure reporting.
The AOPM group assists institutional investors in managing the administrative aspects of investing in Alternative Investments, while also providing investors with the decision support tools and information they need to help find the alpha they are seeking from their managers. The Private Markets service is built on a set of integrated technologies, which allows us to process information from investor's financial statements in a quick and efficient manner, and a dedicated client service team who is experienced in working with Alternative Investments and focused on delivering timely and accurate information.
Who we are looking for
The Vice President oversees the management of teams that provide performance reporting, data collection, and data validation services to clients. The VP acts as the secondary escalation point for our clients, who are some of the largest institutional investors in Alternative Investments in the world. They will lead efforts on new client conversions, systems updates, and special projects, as well as providing direct oversight and mentorship to the Assistant Vice Presidents (AVP) and Officers on the team. The VP will also work closely with our clients to provide data support and reporting solutions, participate in client RFP discussions, and lead client training sessions, as needed
What you will be responsible for
The Vice President will be responsible for helping to drive on the design, implementation, and execution of the strategic vision of the Private Markets team in State Street's Asset Owners group (formerly known as Institutional Investor Services).
Responsibilities Include:
• Ensure their teams are delivering timely and accurate data updates and reports to our clients and their constituents
• Work closely with clients to provide reporting solutions via online training, as needed
• Provide direct oversight and mentorship to AVPs and Officers on the team
• Ensure that all team members are following Standard Operating Procedures, and that quality control checks are in place for all client deliverables
• Support AVPs in their secondary review of scheduled and ad-hoc investment performance and underlying company exposure reporting prepared by Officers and Associates, as needed
• Refine and optimize the AOPM operating model to ensure that resources are being properly deployed by collaborating with our partners in IT and in our global operations hubs in China, India, and Singapore
• Assist State Street Client Service teams in negotiations with clients to establish service levels and set delivery expectations when implementing new solutions
• Work with our IT partners to ensure support for development, implementation, and maintenance of new technology solutions for AOPM clients and the AOPM team
• Support business growth initiatives by preparing RFP responses, participating in prospective client presentations, and reviewing upsell opportunities with the Client Service team
• Manage and help drive implementation efforts for special projects, as needed
• Perform oversight of teams in India and China.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
• BA/BS in finance, accounting, or a related discipline - MBA, CFA, or CPA is a plus
• 10+ years of experience working in Alternative Investments.
• Proven expertise in performance measurement and accounting for Alternative Investments
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and service-oriented skills required
• Proven ability to lead a team of managers and associates working on a wide array of responsibilities
Additional Skills Include:
• Ability to work in various wed-based applications and MS Office tools
• Strong analytical skills, detail oriented, work independently and collaboratively
• Strong verbal and written communications skills and have the ability to handle multiple priorities
• Knowledge of Solovis and/or Canoe is a plus
• Knowledge of Private Equity, Hedge Funds and Real Estate

Salary Range:
$110,000 - $177,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
